Thank You – #6
Thank You No. 6
Today, I am thankful for modern-day medicine.
No matter where you stand on the whole healthcare debate going on in the United States right now, you have to admit we have unbelievable modern medicine in our country. Just yesterday, my father in law had both of his knees replaced. Imagine trying to pull that off 50 years ago. Researchers have discovered new ways to fight elevated cholesterol and high blood pressure. Doctors have perfected techniques to successfully transplant organs, appendages, and even faces. It’s really amazing when you think about it.
When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:11-13
Why are you thankful today?
