Ice Breaker – Halloween Candy

Each week on The Stretched Blog, we ask an ice breaker question.  The questions are designed to help us get to know each other here in The Stretched Community.  I’ll provide my answer to the question here in the post, and then you can leave your response in the comments.  While you’re in the comments section, see how others answered the ice breaker question.

As Halloween rapidly approaches, it’s time to think about something important – Halloween candy!

Question:  What is your favorite Halloween candy?  What will you be handing out at your house on October 31st?

My Answer:  Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are by far my favorite Halloween candy.  How can you top chocolate and peanut butter.  We don’t get any visitors on Halloween, but if we did…Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!

There you have it – my answer.  Now, it’s your turn.  Answer this week’s ice breaker question by leaving a comment.  I look forward to reading your response!

I usually have a bag of Hershey miniatures. My favorite is the dark chocolate. Typically we’re simply preparing for the kids across the street since we really don’t get many Trick or Treaters. Our neighborhood is a single block-long street across a major highway from a large neighborhood. Why waste time with a dozen homes when you’ve got hundreds across the great concrete divide.

Reese’s are made by Hershey, and they come in a miniature size. I’d stop at your house!

I’ll raise the ante’ just a little. I like the special Reese’s pumpkins they have this time of year.

Sounds good, Larry, and it goes perfect with the time of year. Speaking of pumpkins, our family is due for our traditional trip to the pumpkin patch.

Hi Jon! For me, I gotta separate fruity vs chocolate….for fruity: It used to be the OLD (and much better) good n fruitys… but now its sour patch kids and Reese’s are top for chocolate. Candy is a weakness of mine!

That’s one of the reasons Leanne keeps candy out of our house – for the most part. She’ll go nuts on the chocolate – especially dark chocolate, and I’ll eat too much of everything.

While Reese’s PB Cups (frozen!) are my favorite, I eat those all year long. I have a soft spot for Mary Jane taffy, which I closely associate with Halloween.

Frozen. Last year, our kids trick-or-treated in the snow. When they were done, their Reese’s may have been frozen.

First of all, this is two separate questions! My favorite(s) are things made of dark chocolate with nuts or peanut butter or toffee. What i hand out are mostly fruity, sweet/sour and chewy type candies. I don’t like those, so it doesn’t matter if I have some left over, I won’t eat it. And, I don’t have to worry about kids with peanut allergies, plus I figure they probably get enough chocolate at every other house. (What am I saying! There’s no such thing as enough chocolate!)

I’ll have to stop by with my wife. She loves dark chocolate, and I like the fruity, sweet/sour chewy candies like Sour Patch Kids.
